Baby, it's cold outside

Here we are February 20th and it's 21 degrees outside, windy and cold. I always think that winter should be on it's way out by February 20th. Apparently, I'm wrong. The weather man says we'll have a winter storm watch tomorrow from 5pm - 10pm with 5-8 inches of snow expected. I usually don't mind snow in the forecast, as long as we don't have to go anywhere. Tomorrow I'll be at work from 3pm - 11:30pm. Prime snow falling hours. Seems I'll be watching the snow fall from the hospital windows and will knee deep and brushing snow off the car in the wee hours of the night. So this time, I do mind the snow in the forecast.

If you read the previous blog entry, maybe you're wondering how we did on our shopping trip. You won't believe my luck!! It was raining and Anna took a long nap until 3:00. Brent got off work early about 3:30 and called home. He said he was running to Meijer and did we need anything? Did we need anything?! Yes, cat food from the pet store and my few things from Target turned into a few things from Meijer. So, tune in next time for Anna & Mommy's adventures. :o)

Today is Friday. Oh how I used to LOVE Fridays. Last day of work for the week and a whole weekend waiting to be enjoyed. Before Miss Anna came along, Brent and I used to meet at home after work and we always went out to dinner on Fridays. It was kind of our "thing". Dinner out on Fridays. We would order drinks and sometimes even dessert. We didn't care how long we waited for a table or what time we got home. We could sleep in the next morning, after all. We sometimes rented movies for the weekend. How different this Friday will be! We will be baking fish at home for dinner and mixing rice cereal for Miss Anna. There certainly won't be any movie watching, who has time for that? Maybe we'll make a quick trip to Babies R Us. But an evening with our darling girl ... that's better than dessert any day.

Alright loving the daily posting! you go girl. I thought about you yesterday morning as I shuffling the kids and dog in the car. It does get easier and once they can sit up in the big girl car seat they really enjoy short trips well sometimes, pause on the short and sometimes. You become a pro about running numbers in your head ~ 2 hour outing will need three diapers just incase, two bananas, wet wipes and juice. They become independent and choose which million toys they want and can even help buckling themselves in. When they have a job to do they are more apt to comply with getting in the car. Bellzie is in charge of toys and Olivia is in charge of the dog. (we take him with us to stores they let dogs in ie Home Depot, and to therapy and drop off pick up from school.) Anyway it gets easier but the car gets messier! Yikes! And the more times you go out the easier it is. I would say keep a big zip lock bag in your trunk with wipes, diapers, change of clothes, and a non perishable snack. You never know when you are going run out of the house and forget those things and then really need them, of course you can buy them on the way but this saves time and money. Oh and when she starts to walk, get a pair of shoes to keep in the car, I can not tell you how many shoes we bought because we forgot Olivia's shoes at home. When they first start to walk you are not use to having shoes on them or needing them for outings.
Alright have a great Saturday.
Hug my girl
