"I heard it!"

I had an OB appointment today to check on Baby #2. I am 11 weeks along already! The appointment was quick and routine. Everything looks great and we were able to hear the baby's heart beat! I took Anna along to the appointment today and she was well behaved and patient. However, she did not like when I had to lay on the exam table. So, she sat on the table next to me and then she liked being a part of the action. It took a few minutes to find the baby's heartbeat, which is typical since the baby is still so small. Once they found it, we were able to hear the little "woosh-woosh" sound of the little heart beating. And Anna said, "I heard it!!" What a moment - to hear the first sounds of my newest little one and to hear my "big girl" exclaim with happiness that she heard it, too.

Brent wasn't able to come to the appointment today since he had a meeting for work. But he surprised us and was able to meet us at the doctor's office just as we were leaving. We wish he could have been there to hear the baby, but he also took joy in hearing Anna re-cap the appointment. She told him, "Check her belly" and "Baby in there". While I know she doesn't really understand what is going on, she is now getting a tad more interested. Since the appointment, she has lifted up the edge of my shirt twice to take a peek at my belly. She must be wondering what all the fuss is about!

Brent took us out to Panera for lunch. Then we walked downtown a bit and we found a Thanksgiving dress for Anna. A perfect little family afternoon!

Now Anna is napping. Brent is back to work, but is at home here in his office. I have to take the dog to the vet and then have to be at work at 6pm. Busy day! But with many blessings.
